This is a great guitar riff slightly simplified so that its a little easier to play for beginners.
(The original riff which is harder to play will also soon be available as a lesson).
Start off by using just your first finger to play all of the riff.
When you get the hang of it its time to start trying out a more advanced fingering technique. Use your first finger for the 1st and 2nd frets but use your 3rd (ring) finger for the 5th fret note. This will enable you to play the riff a lot faster especially when combined with alternate picking (up and down strokes).
